Accordent Technologies Recognized at Streaming Media Magazine Readers' Choice Awards
Used to webcast and record high-value presentations that take place every day in the world's meeting rooms

Digg This!

Accordent Technologies announced that two of its products - the Accordent Capture Station and the Accordent Media Management System - have been nominated for "Best Webcasting Appliance" and "Best Content Management Platform" respectively to receive a Readers Choice Award from the readers of Streaming Media Magazine.

Widely adopted by hundreds of enterprise, education and government users since its debut in 2005, the Accordent Capture Station is an easy-to-use, room-based appliance used by 150 of the Fortune 500 and hundreds of education and government clients to webcast and record high-value presentations that take place every day in the world's meeting rooms, classrooms and boardrooms. By automating the process of capturing and publishing streaming media synchronized with slides and other visuals, the Accordent Capture Station has enabled many organizations to make the transition from costly satellite communications, phone lines or high-cost video production to TV-like, compelling and universally accessible online broadcasts.

By empowering organizations to control, manage, search and track rich media assets and how viewers interact with those assets over time, the Accordent Media Management System is a keystone product that is already playing a significant role in bridging the gap between occasional-use streaming applications and mainstream online communications adoption.

The Accordent Media Management System uniquely delivers a centralized online infrastructure for searching, publishing and securing multi-level access to presentations created with Accordent rich media creation products (the Accordent Capture Station, Accordent PresenterPRO™ and Accordent Engage™) and can also ingest, store and track third-party video and audio sources, such as meetings held via videoconference, web conference and audio conference.

Unlike traditional document or asset management systems, the system authenticates and tracks viewer interaction with presentations over time, providing administrators with a record of who has watched each presentation, how long they watched it for and how viewers interact with the material (using polling, testing and Q&A). Clients use the system's online testing with its advanced reporting capabilities for auditable online professional certification and regulatory compliance programs.

"I can't think of a better testament to the growth and strength of the streaming media market than the fact that more than 100 companies nominated well over 200 products for our first annual Readers' Choice Awards," said Streaming Media magazine editor Eric Schumacher-Rasmussen. "Enterprise, education, and entertainment users have more choices than ever, and every nominee represents either a tried-and-true solution or an innovative new approach to delivering digital media online."

"It is an honor to be nominated for these awards and to be recognized by our customers and the industry overall for providing great products" added Mike Newman, CEO, Accordent Technologies, Inc. "We've always prided ourselves on listening to customers and designing our products to best meet their needs. Receiving these nominations underscores just how much our clients and partners have benefited from those efforts."

Voting for the 2007 Streaming Media Readers' Choice Awards is open until Friday, September 7th, 2007. The winners will be announced in the October/November issue of Streaming Media Magazine, and will be recognized at the Streaming Media West exhibition, which takes place November 6-8th at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center.
