GoGrid CEO to Present at SYS-CON's Cloud Computing Conference & Expo, November 19-21, San Jose, CA

The complex server infrastructure needed to support SaaS is beginning to move to the Cloud

Software as a Service (SaaS) is a way to deliver software and services on-demand from the web and by subscription rather than a one-time upfront cost. SaaS is truly changing the way people access services and software, and is rapidly moving software applications completely online. At the same time, the complex server infrastructure needed to support SaaS is beginning to move to the Cloud. This session will discuss how SaaS allows for environments to be created, managed and deployed with minimal effort and time, and how new cloud computing offerings can improve deliverability capabilities, scalability and better match the SaaS subscription model with utility-based billing for hosting infrastructure.

Speaker Bio:
John Keagy is CEO and Co-Founder of GoGrid, the leader in Linux and Windows Cloud Computing. He is an Internet infrastructure pioneer, having built and sold several successful Internet service providers since 1991. The company was recently named to Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 in recognition of its growth (#11 in Silicon Valley and #77 in North America). ServePath began work on GoGrid in 2006 when Keagy saw the impending shift of computing to the cloud as ServePath’s second growth opportunity.

Cloud Computing Conference & Expo, November 19-20-21, 2008
SYS-CON Events announced today that Amazon CTO Dr. Werner Vogels will deliver the opening keynote at SYS-CON's Cloud Computing Conference & Expo (www.cloudcomputingexpo.com), which will take place November 19-21, at the Fairmont Hotel at the heart of Silicon Valley, in San Jose, California. The first International Cloud Computing Conference & Expo will be colocated with the 4th International Virtualization Conference & Expo (www.virtualizationconference.com)..

Building the right infrastructure that can scale up or down at a moment's notice can be a complicated and expensive task, but it's essential in today's business landscape. This applies to an enterprise trying to cut-costs, a young business unexpectedly saturated with customer demand, or a start-up looking to launch.

There are many challenges when building a reliable, flexible architecture that can manage unpredictable behaviors of today's internet business. This presentation will review some of the lessons learned from building one of the world's largest distributed systems; Amazon.com. The focus will be on state management which is one of the dominating factors in the scalability, reliability, performance and cost-effectiveness of the overall system.
