GigaSpaces Technologies and RightScale announced their alliance to provide an integrated solution for the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). Ideal for data-intensive and transactional applications, the joint solution offers an affordable end-to-end stack for easily deploying and scaling applications running on Amazon Web Services. By integrating the GigaSpaces eXtreme Application Platform (XAP) with RightScale’s automated cloud computing management platform, customers will have unparalleled automation, simplicity and performance in scaling-out applications in the cloud.
The need for scalable, reliable solutions that deliver superior results has never been greater. Businesses across industries are demanding high performance applications that can keep up with company growth and expanding data volumes. Yet, traditional IT approaches cannot meet this need in an efficient or cost-effective way. By combining GigaSpaces’ scale-out application server with RightScale’s automated cloud computing management, load balancing and superior monitoring capabilities, customers can easily scale data-intensive applications on-demand. In addition, users can manage, monitor and deploy the GigaSpaces EC2 cluster using RightScale’s web dashboard and automation tools. With pre-built installation templates for common software stacks, the joint solution is cost-effective and saves time on maintaining and managing all Amazon Web Services activities.
”Business computing is rapidly changing from a fixed model to a dynamically scalable cloud architecture where growth can happen efficiently and on-demand,” said Michael Crandell, chief executive officer, RightScale. “By partnering with GigaSpaces, RightScale will offer customers with enterprise-class, data-intensive or transactional applications the ability to scale to their needs, and allow them to focus exclusively on their business objectives.”
"RightScale shares our goal of making cloud computing accessible and affordable, so this partnership is a natural fit,” said Geva Perry, chief marketing officer, GigaSpaces. “RightScale’s automated cloud computing management system combined with GigaSpaces’ application server provides a next-generation platform for deploying linearly scalable, fault-tolerant HPC, enterprise and web applications. This ensures that as demand fluctuates, the application will be able to handle it, while the application owner only pays for the software and hardware actually used.”
RightScale and GigaSpaces are engaged in several joint marketing activities and working on enhancing the solution further for new cloud computing applications. A joint webinar is planned for July 1, 2008, with information and registration at https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/564744360.
GigaSpaces XAP is a next-generation application server built for today's most demanding enterprise and web applications. Unlike traditional application servers, GigaSpaces XAP enables predictable application scalability on-demand. Its scale-out application server offers a unique architecture that allows the data and logic to be reliably co-located in the same machine, in-memory.
