David Linthicum, the highly popular SOA thought leader and practitioner, will be keynoting in New York City in June at SOAWorld Conference & Expo 2008 East. 'While everyone wants to do SOA right the first time, the typical results are not always stellar,' says Linthicum. 'The pitfalls of building any complex architecture, including SOA,' he adds, 'are something that the SOA practitioners must contend with, and most are ill-equipped.'

Linthicum's keynote, titled "SOA By the Numbers," will be a must-attend for those looking to get SOA right the first time.

Recently appointed CEO of data services provider StrikeIron, Linthicum is widely regarded as an industry thought leader and visionary, and is an is an internationally known EAI, SOA and Web 2.0 expert. Prior to joining StrikeIron, he was a managing partner with Zapthink, a consulting and advisory organization dedicated to SOA planning, implementation, training, mentoring and strategy.

In his career, Linthicum has assisted in the formation of many of the ideas for modern distributed computing including Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) and B2B application integration. Additionally, Linthicum has several blogs and is a regular contributor to a number of top tier industry publications like SOAWorld Magazine. Linthicum has authored ten books, three of which were best sellers.
