"Building a technical infrastructure that provides access to all our sites - large or small, newspaper or TV-based - is essential," said Jack Williams, president of Gannett Digital, as he announced this week that the Maven Internet TV Platform will be providing enterprise-wide Internet video advertising and player solutions for Gannett's Digital Operations. As Gannett revamps the infrastructure behind its online environment, the company intends to reinvent the news and information experience for online consumers.
The Maven Internet TV Platform offers Gannett top quality players that customers and advertisers demand, enabling its Web operations to feature video in more places and across multiple brands - without taxing IT network and staff resources. Maximizing this capability, Gannett will share more of its most compelling news and lifestyle video across its entire network of Web sites, as well as enable consumers to feature videos they like on their own social media pages.
”Our Information Center approach to news and information relies on multimedia, and video is a key element of our news and information offerings on all our Web sites – whether they are related to our newspapers or TV stations,” said Williams. “Maven is the solution we choose to enable just that.”
Gannett also will turn to Maven to create advertiser inventory. Maven’s highly customizable media player can be tailored to reflect the look and feel of major bureau and local affiliate styles or to showcase advertisements with vast color palates, skin options and more. Additionally, the Maven platform offers analysis and an intelligent insertion engine that allows advertisers to leverage a variety of ad formats for targeted audiences.
“Gannett is taking steps once again as an early adopter of advanced technology and innovative news styles to enhance its delivery of essential, in-depth news online, through a transformative video viewing experience,” said Hilmi Ozguc, Founder and CEO of Maven Networks. “With the use of Maven’s Internet TV Platform, we anticipate that Gannett will be able to maximize the value of its video assets for both consumers and advertisers while satisfying its audiences across the board.”
