AllGo Systems Partners with MIPS Technologies and Tensilica to Bring Android™ to Home Entertainment Devices

AllGo Systems today announced they are working with MIPS Technologies and Tensilica to bring high-end media codec support with advanced multimedia features to MIPS-Based™ Android™ platforms, to help silicon companies and OEMs easily roll out their new home entertainment and mobile consumer products based on Android. At CES, AllGo is demonstrating a UPnP/DLNA-based high-definition video streaming solution on a MIPS-Based Sigma Designs Vantage 8654 platform running Android. Separately, AllGo is demonstrating with Tensilica multi-channel audio playback on a MIPS32® processor integrated with a Tensilica HiFi2 Audio DSP. MIPS and Tensilica recently announced they are leveraging their integrated solution to accelerate SoC design activity on Android.
